Abdominoplasty

INTRODUCTION
Abdominoplasty is a complicated plastic surgery, with the help of which the removal of the excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen is possible. At the same time doctors can solve the defects of the abdominal wall by strengthening and sewing of the abdominal muscles. In case of  abdominoplasty, if performed by an experienced doctor esthetician, the results are good. This operation helps in removing the fat on the lower abdomen.
Which patients are eligible for Abdominoplasty?

INDICATIONS PREOPERATIVE - do not eat or drink anything after midnight before the operation, is prohibited to administer aspirin and a drug that contain the 2 weeks before surgery, women should be in operation outside the menstrual period, tell the surgeon and the anesthetist if you medical problems (tension, vascular problems, heart conditions, diabetes, lung problems, bleeding problems, epilepsy, neurological problems, allergies to various drugs), tell your doctor if you wear contact lenses denture or, if you smoke, plan your leave your with at least 1-2 weeks before surgery, avoid excessive sun expose you before the operation, especially the abdomen, do not follow a strict diet before surgery because it can delay healing, whether cool or make any infection, operation should be postponed.
SURGERY - Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. It takes between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the complexity of the operation. Typically, such an intervention consists of removing all subombilical skin with the fat layer.

RECOVERY postoperative
After discharge, the threads will be removed within 12 days since the surgery. The patient will wear girdle (Marena) for at least 2 weeks after removal of threads. Some people return to work after 2 weeks, while others need 3-4 weeks of rest and recover. The scars turn red and swell in 6 months period, and after 9 months - 1 year they flatten and open to color. It is advisable to avoid sun exposure for 1 year after surgery, in order to avoid pigmentation. Also Prosil cream should be applied.
